    is a Black woman on a journey to changing the world. She graduated from the Holton-Arms School and received her BS in Human Biology Health and Society from Cornell University College of Human Ecology. She went on to graduate from the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, receiving her MS in Integrative Medicine. She then received her MD from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in 2022 and subsequently began her pediatric residency training.

  • Lawren is a former National President of the AMWA Student Division. In 2020, she co-founded DC COVID Sitters, an organization that provided free childcare to healthcare workers and first responders during the COVID-19 pandemic. Also in 2020, she was a founding member of the Georgetown University School of Medicine Racial Justice Committee for Change. Prior to starting her residency, in her free time, she served the DC community through local mutual aid organizations.

  • Lawren is a descendant of enslaved peoples, a 4th generation Washingtonian and semi-professional cellist with over 25 years of training and experience. She is also a published author, poet, music composer and survivor of assault. She has experience speaking to news media and national conferences sharing her experiences as a Black medical trainee and as a survivor of assault and police brutality.
